Welcome to the page of the FADA Education and Networking Group!

Introduction

The aim of our group is to help educate both FADA members and the local public. This includes both theoretical education (like talks about peak oil and climate change) and practical education (like running practical skills courses). Another one of the group's objectives is to network with other local groups.  

If you would like to join us, you are very welcome to contact us via FADA's mail or come to one of FADA's plenary meetings.

Current list of projects

• Adult Education Courses
• Organise speakers for talks within FADA (once a month)
• Organise speakers for public talks (around 3-4 times a year)
• Set up a FADA library
• Network with other community groups
• Organise introduction of new FADA members
• Liaise with schools to organise transition year projects or other projects in themes relevant to FADA
• Organise public screenings of documentaries and films with relevant context

Cultivate: The team at Cultivate runs some very interesting courses and workshops! Based in Dublin's Temple Bar.

Learningpoint.ie: This is a web-based resource about training opportunities for the Community and Voluntary Sector in Ireland, developed by The Wheel. Launched in September 2006, this central sign-posting service aims to help community and voluntary organisations access information about training. Check out its excellent courses seach engine by clicking here.

CELT: This is a community group and registered charity involved in organising a variety of courses and workshops.

Sustainability Institute: The Sustainability Institute runs an interesting variety of courses in different subjects (e.g. energy, gardening). The classes are mostly run in Mayo.
