KILDARE COUNTY COUNCIL Corporate Plan 2015-2019 The population of the county went into decline between 1841 and the end of the nineteenth century. From the early twentieth century the population of the county remained relatively static for nearly eighty years as can be seen from the graph below. From the late 1970s the population of the county increased consistently year on year.
