Applying For a Water Connection

Documents Required:

  1. Water Connection Application Form (See Link below)
  2. Road Opening Licence Form (see Link below)
  3. Copy of Planning Permission & Conditions (where relevant)
  4. Site Location Map with site to be connected clearly marked
  5. For all commercial/industrial developments and residential developments of more that one unit, a watermain layout and section is also required for examination and approval by the Waterworks Technician.
  6. Letter from local Group Water Scheme(i.e. giving permission to connect to the scheme and confirming adequacy of water supply) if relevant.

Please forward all relevant documents to:

Kildare County Council, Water Services Department, Áras Chill Dara, Naas, Co.Kildare (045-980362)

 

PROCEDURE (ALLOW 6-8 WEEKS FOR WATER CONNECTION)

  • Once all documents are received and correct, the Waterworks Engineer prepares a report indicating the size of connection, fee payable etc.
  • The application is then forwarded to the relevant roads area office for the Road Opening Licence to be issued.
  • The application is returned to the Water Services Department, Áras Chill Dara, for an invoice to be issued indicating the water connection fee, the road opening fee and the refundable road bond amount.
  • On payment of these fees, a permit is issued.
  • The applicant then contacts the Waterworks Office, Newbridge (045-431364) to organise a date for the connection to take place with the relevant area overseer.
