Roads Regulations, 1994

Kildare County Council, on behalf of Irish Water, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close the following roads during the period commencing Monday, 11 January 2021 to Sunday, 21 February 2021 to facilitate installation of pipework.

Planned works are programmed for 42 calendar days. Advance notification of start date will be provided. Roads will be opened early if works are completed early.

Alternative Routes:

Westbound vehicles travelling on the L4079 (Athgarvan Road) towards R445 (Edward Street) will divert right at L4079 (Athgarvan Road)/L70419 (Cutlery Road) (circa 0.33km). They will then divert left at L70419 (Cutlery Road)/R445 (Edward Street) and continue on R445 (Edward Street) (circa 0.63km).

Eastbound vehicles travelling on the R445 (Edward Street) towards Newbridge Shopping Centre car park will instead continue straight on R445 (Edward Street) (circa 0.63km). They will then divert right before Conleth’s Bridge onto the R416 Athgarvan Road.

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
