Temporary Closing of Roads

Notice of Intention

Roads Act, 1993

Roads Regulations, 1994

 

Kildare County Council gives notice on behalf of ESB Networks in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994, that it intends to close:

The R-415 Station Road in Kildare Town will be closed from its junction with the L-70153 Fairgreen Road and its junction with the L-80142 Curragh Finn over Railway Bridge. As part of the works it is also proposed to close L-70153 Fair Green Road. 

From Monday, 25 November 2019 to Friday, 29 November 2019 inclusive from 00:30 to 04:30 hrs. each night.

The closure is required to facilitate ESB pole replacement on the bridge

Alternative Routes

Traffic travelling from Kildare Town on R-415 will be diverted left onto R-401, continue along R-401 to its junction with Dunmurray Link Road, turning right onto Dunmurray Link Road and continue to its junction with R-415 turning left and continuing along R-415.

Traffic travelling to Kildare Town on R-415 will be diverted right onto Dunmurray Link Road, continue along Dunmurray Link Road to its junction with R-401, turning left onto R-401 and continue to its junction with R-415, turning right and continuing along R-415.

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency Services only will only be permitted to transverse the bridge during the closure period.   Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the Senior Executive Officer, Roads, Transportation & Public Safety, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare or by e-mail to roadssubmissions@kildarecoco.ie  on or before 5:00p.m. on Monday, 14 October 2019.
