Presidential Election

Friday 26 October 2018


Polling Stations Open: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.


Are you on the Register of Electors? If not, there is still time to apply for inclusion in the Supplement in order to vote at the presidential election.


The presidential election will take place on Friday 26 October 2018.  You must be an Irish citizen, ordinarily resident in the constituency, and 18 years or over on polling day to vote in the presidential election.  To check if you are eligible to vote you can check online at or by calling Kildare County Council on 045 980201 or email

(If you recently sent in a RFA form for inclusion on the Supplement Register, your details will not appear online as the Supplement is additional to the Live Register which was published in February.  It is only the Live Register which is visible online.)


Supplement application forms are available from Kildare County Council offices, Libraries, Garda stations and Post offices.  Forms are also available online at or the council website at

Your application must be signed in the presence of the Garda Síochána from your local Garda station, please have photographic identification with you.

The closing date for receipt of completed forms is Tuesday 9 October 2018.


Supplement to the Postal and Special Voters Lists – If you are eligible to vote by post, or are unable to vote in person due to physical illness or physical disability and resident in a hospital, nursing home or similar institution - forms are available as above and where it is not possible to have the form signed in the presence of the Garda Síochána, the application form must be accompanied by a medical certificate.

The closing date for receipt of completed forms is Monday 1 October 2018.
