Part 8 - Naas Inner Relief Road



Naas Inner Relief Road – Dublin Road to Blessington Road

Planning Reference: P82019-07

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, Kildare County Council proposes to develop a new road, the Naas Inner Relief Road, running from Dublin Road (R445) to the Blessington Road (R410), via Tipper Road, Naas, Co Kildare. The proposed development, which is the subject of this Part 8, will include the following:

  • The installation of a 6.5 metre wide carriageway pavement with 3.25 metre wide median,  two 2 metre wide verges, two 2 metre wide footways and two 2 metre wide cycletracks .
  • The installation of one new junction and the upgrade of existing junctions.
  • Earthworks
  • Drainage
  • Public utilities
  • Traffic signs and road markings
  • Temporary traffic management
  • Landscaping, site boundary treatments and all associated site development works.

Particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during normal opening hours from Tuesday, 26 February 2019 until Tuesday, 26 March 2019 during public opening hours at the following locations:

Transportation Department:       (Level 4), Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas.

Naas Community Library:            Harbour View, Naas West, Naas, Co Kildare W91 A997.

The proposed development has undergone Appropriate Assessment Screening under the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended and the Planning Authority has determined that a Stage 2 Appropriate Assessment is not required in this instance. In addition, the proposal has also undergone screening for Environmental Impact Assessment under the EIA Directive 2014/52/EU (and the relevant provisions of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended) and the Planning Authority has determined that there will be no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and therefore an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required. In accordance with Section 120 of the Planning & Development Regulations (as amended), any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.

All comments, including names of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard to this scheme will form part of the statutorily required report to be presented at a meeting of the elected members. Accordingly they will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain.
