Extension to Dog Pound

Proposed Dog Pound Extension & Associated Works

at Farnaling Cottage, Portersize, Timolin, Co. Kildare.

Notice of Proposed Development by Kildare County Council

Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended)

Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) (Part 8)

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given that Kildare County Council proposes to carry out the following development at Farnaling Cottage, Portersize, Timolin, Co. Kildare.

Extension to existing dog pound facility to include for the following;

  1. A.    Public Areas
  • ·         Improvement works to existing road entrance (L-8037)
  • ·         New entrance yard with visitor parking
  • ·         New reception extension
  • ·         New viewing gallery for visitors
  1. B.    Private Areas
  • ·         New private pound yard with van wash area
  • ·         New kennel extension (5 units)
  • ·         New kennel block with isolation unit (4 units)
  • ·         New kennel yard (Restricted Access)

The site area of 0.099 Hectares for the proposed development consists of extending the current facility into part of the adjoining farm building and yard, with the creation of distinct private and public areas to accommodate an increased number of dogs and create facilities for the visiting public.

Plans and particulars of the proposed extension will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during normal opening hours from Tuesday, 14 November, 2017 until Tuesday, 12 December, 2017 at the following locations:

  • Environment Department,Kildare County Council, at the address below
  • Ballitore Library, Ballitore, Co. Kildare
  • Kildare County Council’s website

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the proposed development would be situated may be made in writing to: Senior Executive Officer, Environment Section, Kildare County Council, at the address below on or before 12.00 noon on Friday, 5 January, 2018. Submissions should be headed - “Extension to Dog Pound at Timolin”

All submissions or observations,(including names and addresses of those making submissions/observations),submitted to the Council in regard to this project will form part of the statutory report to be presented to the monthly meeting of Kildare County Council.  Accordingly, they will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain.
