Ellistown Playground Official Opening Friday 7th April 2017
The Mayor of the Kildare Municipal Area Councillor Mark Stafford will officially open the new playground in Ellistown GAA Grounds on Friday 7th April at 6.30pm. The playground has been built at a cost of €150k. The site for the playground was provided by Ellistown GAA. The location of the playground is ideally located to provide a play facility for the community in Ellistown and its hinterland and compliments the GAA facilities and creche located on the site. The aim of the design of the playground was to retain the natural and rural character of the location. This is complimented with natural grass mounds through the site and a dry stream and large sand play area. The central feature of the site is a playhouse with two floor levels and a tube slide. The site caters for children from 1-12 and also features swings, a climbing frame and a seesaw as well as other popular equipment.
