The Finance Act 2010 has set out requirements for county councils to account for V.A.T. on economic activities.
Kildare County Council has had to increase the following charges from 1st July 2010, as a result of this requirement.

| Library Photocopying | A4 Black & White - 18c per sheet |
| A4 Colour - €1.20 per sheet | |
| A3 Black & White - 35c per sheet | |
| Off-Street Parking | Increase by 21% (rounded down to the nearest 10c) |
| Each off street parking area has signs displaying the charge applicable | |
| Grave Opening Permit | Permit cost is now €121 |
