The KCC environmental photography competition has been in existence since 2001. Its aim is to foster an appreciation and awareness of the environment of Kildare through the medium of photography. Since then, hundreds of  photographers have entered hundreds of photographs in four categories: amateur, professional, junior and youth. The results are displayed at the awards night held every year.
