Join the National Spring Clean 2011!!
Hundreds of people in Kildare take part in National Spring Clean- residents associations, schools, tidy towns groups, even individuals. The clean-up takes place during the month of April and is a great way of getting people involved in looking after their own locality.
How to get involved
You can register at www.nationalspringclean.org or phone An Taisce at 01 4002220. Once you have registered you will receive your clean-up kit with the following items:
- Protective tabards to help keep your clothes clean
- Colour coded plastic bags for recyclable and non-recyclable waste
- Gloves
- You will also receive a Clean-up information pack containing details on:
- Organising an event
- Health and safety information
- Litter facts
- Useful contacts
- Media and publicity advice
- Recycling tips
- Litter and the law
In addition, depending on where you live in Kildare, Kildare County Council, and Athy and Naas Town Councils may be able to offer your group extra bags, gloves or even some litter pickers (on a first come, first served basis).
