Christmas and New Year Arrangements

Our essential and emergency services will continue in operation all through the Christmas and New Year holiday period, protecting the health and safety of County Kildare's citizens.

Some services will be subject to restriction, and details of these appear below.

Offices

Kildare County Council and Naas Town Council will close at normal finishing time on Thursday, 22 December and will reopen on Thursday, 29 December. Closed Monday, 2 January.

Motor Tax

Thursday, 22 December open from 9.15 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.

Planning Applications

The Planning Department of Kildare County Council and Naas Town Council will close at 12 noon on Thursday, 22 December. A facility will be provided until 12 noon on Friday, 23 December to receive planning documents/correspondence. The Planning Department will be open on Thursday, 29 December and Friday, 30 December but cannot accept planning applications, submissions etc. on these dates. Normal planning services will resume from 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 3 January, 2012.

Traffic Fines

Fines issued in Newbridge, Kildare Town, Celbridge and Leixlip on or after Thursday, 22 December will not be available for payment at the cash office, online or using the automated telephone service until Thursday, 29 December. Fines issued on or after Friday, 30 December will not be available for payment at the cash office, online or using the automated telephone service until Tuesday, 3 January.

Libraries

All main libraries and library headquarters at Riverbank will close on Thursday, 22 December at normal times and re-open on Thursday, 29 December and Friday, 30 December at their normal times.

All libraries will close on Saturday, 31 December and Monday, 2 January for the bank holiday weekend.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Christmas trees can be left for recycling at the following locations from Friday, 6 January to Friday, 20 January 2012:

Council Nursery, Naas Road, Newbridge (between Pfizer and Toughers)
Council Depot, Leinster Street, Maynooth
Clane GAA Club, Prosperous Road, Clane (Kildare County Council appreciates the assistance given by the club in this matter)

Athy Town Council

Athy Town Council will close on Friday, 23rd December and will re-open on Thursday, 29th and Friday, 30th December, 2011.

Leixlip Town Council

Leixlip Town Council close at 1.00pm on Thursday 22nd December and reopen on Tuesday 3^rd January at 9.00am
