Promotion of Cleanliness

The Council promotes community involvement in maintaining a clean and tidy environment through:

• Regular liaison with the tidy town committee and resident associations. Athy Town Council has appointed a Tenant Liaison Officer to work closely with the residents in our estates in the town and encourage the setting up of Residents Groups and tenant participation.
  
• Employment of a full time litter warden to ensure enforcement of the law in relation to litter.
  
• Provision of financial assistance by way of community grants to Resident Associations. (Community Grants application form available here).
