Céim Nua - about the Programme
In October 2009, Kildare County Council Arts Service and Riverbank Arts Centre sent out a call for applications for a mentoring programme for new and emerging writers and directors from County Kildare.
The purpose of the programme was to support new and emering theatre talent from County Kildare.
Fishamble: The New Play Company came on board to mentor the 2 groups. The directors were to be mentored by artistic director Jim Culleton and the writers were to be mentored by literary officer Gavin Kostick.
The groups have been meeting once a month since January 2010. The purpose of the sessions is for the group to discuss and develop their practice as writers and directors in a supportive environment, with industry professionals and their peers.
To mark the end of the programme a showcase of new work written and directed by members of the group took place in Riverbank Arts Centre on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th of November 2010.
