‘The Business of Me’ – How to survive as a professional artist

Working as a freelance artist can be difficult. Sometimes the creative part of your work can be the easiest. The business side of it however… can be a different ball game altogether.

There is no clear roadmap to follow. Should I set up as a sole trader or a limited company? How do I promote myself? What type of insurance / cover should I have? How do I land freelance opportunities?   The list is endless!

To address some of these issues Kildare Arts Service will host a one day session ‘The business of me’ to support / advise artists an all aspects of being a freelance artist.

The sessions will cover

  • Accountancy for freelance artists
  • Insurance
  • Tools to promote yourself and your work
  • Documenting and reporting – what are funders / employers looking for?
  • Professionalism – what is expected of you as a freelance artist
  • Networking opportunities and how to make the most of them
  • Q and A

Booking for this event will be handled by Eventbrite and you can book your tickets via the embedded link below. Ticket are FREE but limited and are on a first come - first served basis
