MFFA - His and Hers October 6th

his and hers

When: Next Wednesday 6th October 2010

Where: New Lecture Theatre, Iontas Building, North Campus, NUI Maynooth

Time: 8.00pm

Maynooth Film for All: Film Club is delighted to screen the multi award winning documentary His & Hers next Wednesday 6th October at 8.00pm. Followed by a Q & A with the film’s director Ken Wardrop. Ken’s masterful feature-length debut is beautiful in its simplicity and delights in what is said and, left unsaid. A truly thoughtful and touching film!

‘It finds comedy in the mundane, tragedy in the profound and provides an original insight into life’ Galway Film Fleadh 2009

Prefaced with the quote: "A man loves his girlfriend the most, his wife the best, but his mother the longest", this touching documentary doesn't feature a single male in the whole cast. However, in a wry twist, those featured only speak of one thing: the men in their lives. From the children who talk of their father telling them to clean their rooms or do jobs in the garden, to the elderly woman who talks about the husband she lost or the son who visits her, this documentary reveals all about their subjects through the discussion of the opposite sex.

For one night we’re moving to the New Lecture Theatre, Iontas Building, North Campus NUI Maynooth – see map for details http://www.nuim.ie/location/maps/index.shtml

Also showing on the night will be Ken’s short Farewell Packets of Ten. The programme starts at 7.45pm with an introduction from Dr Denis Condon NUIM. The featured film then begins at 8.00pm.
