Join us this summer for a dynamic and energetic week of dance!

The Kildare Dance Summer School offers a ‘pick and mix programme’ allowing you to immerse yourself in an exciting range of approaches to dance. 
• Develop your dance skills through technique and choreographic workshops
• Continue your professional development and apply your skills to working in different contexts including youth, education and disability
• Dance just for the fun of it! Just enjoy sessions in creative dance and the unique experience of a Movement Choir

Course options include technique and choreography classes, community based workshops, including Dance with Disability and Dance into Drama, as well as sessions in creative dance and the unforgettable Movement Choir.

New for the 2009 programme is a day dedicated to Youth Dance, and ‘Laban in Practice in Dance in Education’, a tailor made Dance in Education course for primary teachers. Highly experienced tutors, approved by the Laban Guild, facilitate the Summer School.
The Summer School programme is based on Laban fundamentals i.e. The Body, Space, Effort, Relationship.  However, previous experience of Laban’s work, or other dance techniques, is not essential.

The Dance Summer School costs € 350 for the week or €70 daily rate, which includes tuition fees and tea/coffee. 

Workshops take place Mon-Thurs 9.30am– 4.30pm, Fri 9.30am -1.30pm

Budget on-campus accommodation is available on the campus of NUI Maynooth, if required.
